The 2012 Conference on Preservation Excellence, the first legal conference focused exclusively on improving legal preservation process, will provide comprehensive sessions with nationally recognized experts and ample opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.

We frequently hear from legal professionals that there is a need for more guidance and clarity in the area of data preservation and legal holds.  The costs are too high.  The risks too great.  The rules too uncertain.  Unlike typical e-discovery conferences that can at best provide a cursory overview, this conference is designed to drill down into the step-by-step realities of the preservation process.

By gathering leading e-discovery experts and jurists together with in-house practitioners, the Conference on Preservation Excellence will provide a collaborative forum for participants to elevate the discussion and explore best practice.

  Right before lunch on Friday, “Managing the Duty to Preserve and Releasing the Hold” with eDiscovery Journal’s Mikki Tomlinson will discuss this sticky issue.
   
• What are three things I can do right now to be ready and control costs?
  The first panel on Thursday “Creating the Foundation” examines the proactive steps you can take so that you are ready the next time litigation arises.
   
• What is the ‘state-of-the-art’ in preservation among leading companies?
  In-house legal experts from Hess, Allianz, Assurant and others will share their experiences, as well as outside counsel to elite companies. In addition, the conference will be attended by dozens of peers from which you can learn and share your experiences.
